Whitney Carter

Director of Internally Managed Sports , U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee

Whitney Carter currently serves as the at the USOPC. In her role, she oversees the strategic planning, high performance programs and day-to-day operations for six Olympic, Paralympic and Pan American sports to best achieve better NGB governance and support athlete well-being. Since her tenure at the USOPC, she is a passionate leader with varying roles in the sport performance landscape, including international assessments of high performance and sport development strategies, event and venue management, and support in sport technology. 

Previously serving in the USOPC's former sport performance and NGB services division, she managed two portfolios that included over 17 summer Olympic sport NGBs to support their goals of sustained competitive excellence over each quad. Before coming to the USOPC, Carter had a multifaceted background in sport, spanning from event operations, sport development, sport physiology, media production and administration. When not focused on her day-to-day role, she is an avid nature and outdoor seeker, creator, photographer and big foodie.
